This week, we’re shining the spotlight on our Progressive Web Apps and Offline-First Application Development Workshop. We live in a disconnected and battery powered world, and our technology and best practices are a holdover from the always-connected and steadily-powered past – PWAs are tomorrow’s answer to bridging the gap.
A Progressive Web Application is a website built using modern web technologies, that acts and feels like a mobile app. PWAs combine the best features of the web, and the best attributes of apps by providing an app-like user experience independent of connectivity – they load quickly on slow network connections; allow for working offline; can send push notifications, and are served via HTTPS ensuring added security.
Progressive Webs Applications step into the breach by combining features offered by most modern browsers with the benefits of mobile experience. In this workshop, attendees will be introduced to technologies required to build an offline-first application.
