How to Set a D.A.M.N. Goal – Learning Quickly in Times of Change

“In a time of drastic change, it is the learners who inherit the future. The learned usually find themselves equipped to live in a world that no longer exists.” – Eric Hoffer

We live in a time of constant change. Demand for various technology skills evolves daily, and in order to keep up, the expert developer must be first and foremost an expert learner. Learning is what SyntaxCon is all about. Join Ethan Brooks in this session to explore a key framework for absorbing new skills an information quickly.

We will explore a system I call the D.A.M.N. Goal Framework (as in “What’s your D.A.M.N. goal?”) and see how it can be applied to learning in order to speed skill acquisition, align key stakeholders, and increase the chances of project success.

Lay the foundation for an excellent learning experience and leave with at least one thing that won’t change — a tool set you and your team can use to pick up new skills and information now and in the future.
