Practical training for developers and enginerds

PouchDB, the Database that Syncs

PouchDB is a database that syncs, its primary feature is the ability to sync its data in an eventually consistent way. This enables developers to build data-driven applications that work offline very close to how you might build data-driven applications without offline support. When thinking about this approach a lot of questions bubble up. One of the most popular questions is how to handle security?

In this talk, we look at three specific security areas of concern and apply them to an example application, so we can see the level of difficulty a security plan might entail.

  • Data Validation
  • Encryption
  • Shared Computers

By attending this talk you should gain an understanding of the challenges we have with security and offline-first data-driven applications as well as see some potential solutions that may work for your applications.
